{"title":"MINI PRINTS","description":"\u003cp data-start=\"223\" data-end=\"765\"\u003eThis ongoing collection explores the expressive potential of constraining my work to a small square: I’ve used four sizes; 4x4, 6x6, 8x8, 10x10 and 12x12 inches.  Each work is created using handmade Thai Mulberry paper and art-grade Sumi or Acrylic ink, printed using techniques inspired by Gyotaku. The finished print is then wet-mounted to another sheet of paper  for stability and archival integrity. Every piece features hand-torn edges, a subtle but deliberate gesture that reinforces the presence of the maker and the tactile quality of the process.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp data-start=\"767\" data-end=\"941\"\u003eWhile the process references traditional Gyotaku, this series marks a departure — honoring its materials and methods while moving into a more experimental and personal space.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp data-start=\"943\" data-end=\"1298\"\u003eOver time, the collection will become something of a visual biography — a growing record of the forms, surfaces, and subjects that catch my eye. It reflects not only the things I am drawn to, but also how I see: through texture, fragment, and edge. A marine biologist from Bangor’s School of Ocean Sciences helped me identify the right location and timing to gather it — as sugar kelp grows further out and is only accessible at the lowest tides.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp data-start=\"553\" data-end=\"956\"\u003eAt the restricted 6 x 6 inch scale, the subject becomes almost unrecognisable — a field of texture rather than a specimen. Sugar kelp’s deeply ridged surface creates rich detail in the print, revealing folds, channels, and shadows that invite close inspection.
