I first printed bees after receiving a donation of comb and bees from some Anglesey keepers. This was back in May 2022. Then it occurred to me, that as I'd lived in Manchester most of my adult life, raising my kids in Chorlton that I should do some bee prints for the Manchester Art Fair. The worker bee has been a symbol of Manchester since the 1800's when seven bees were included on the cities coat of arms. For me however I only truly became aware of it as a symbol of Manchester after the terrible terrorist incident that took...

During April and the open studios, I met so many nice people and was blown away by the interest in my work. One couple who came by and bought a bass print from me are bee keepers. Anglesey Bees is located on Anglesey and run by Dafydd and Dawn. They have a beautiful haven for humans and bees in their 7 acre plot. There is an education center where they run courses for bee keepers and would be bee keepers and for those just wanting to understand these fascinating little creatures more. It’s a busy month for me. I’ve got two print fairs sandwiched together by Anglesey open studios. First up is Cheshire Print Fair. This takes place on Saturday 9th April in Chester Cathedral. It’s my first ever print fair and I’m really looking forward it.
