Anglesey Sea Bass Diptych Gyotaku Print
This bass was caught on a line by a local fisherman here in North Wales. It was caught on the Menai Stait.
Bass are my favourite fish to print, the definition you get on the scales is wonderful. This diptych is printed on Chinese mulberry paper and each panel measures approx 20x25cm. I've used a high quality acrylic ink.
Printing is just the first part of the process. After printing, the paper is cockled and wouldn’t lay flat. With this print it has been mounted onto board with an acid free glue. The next stage is to varnish the print to the board. The prints are then framed in a box frame which is oak stained.
The overall finish of this work gives it a very different feel to my other work and I've been trying to create this sort of effect for my work for sometime. So I'm really pleased to be able to offer this one for sale. I'm confident it would be suitable for a bathroom, kitchen or any room in the home in fact.
For an additional fee I may be able to deliver if it's an address in the North West of the UK.
