PLEAS NOTE THIS PRINT IS COLLECTION ONLY
This print was made using sumi ink on handmade Thai mulberry paper and takes as its subject the small plants growing in the lawn around my studio — including delicate ferns, dandelion leaves, and clover. The impressions capture the intricate forms of these familiar yet often overlooked species, translating their presence into a quiet study of line, shape, and texture.
To complete the work, I used Urauchi, the traditional Japanese wet mounting process. The original mulberry sheet is carefully backed with two layers of Japanese Masa paper, a method that preserves the delicate fibers while giving the print greater strength and stability. This process also deepens the tonal qualities of the sumi, allowing the botanical forms to integrate more fully with the surface.
The result is a work that reflects the immediacy of the plants themselves while celebrating the tactile and enduring qualities of handmade paper and traditional technique.
This work has been framed in a high quality but recycled frame. The frame is pretty heavy and for that reason this print is collection only.
