Scallop Shell Duo Gyotaku in White

Okay I'll be honest, this doesn't photograph brilliantly but there is something incredibly minimalist about this print.  Hopefully the video will give you a good impression of how it looks.

I love to print the scallop shell, there is something so beautiful about them and they have been used in art and design for centuries.   Found all around the UK coastline, what better motif for a bit of coastal art?

Here the shell has been printed on Chinese Xuan paper using a high quality acrylic ink that is permanent and light fast. Once the print has been made it requires wet mounting or as they call it in Japan Urauchi.  To do this, we apply a glue to the back of the print and then a second sheet of paper is pressed against the back of the print.  The two sheets are left to dry overnight and will bond and be flat. 

The print is A4 in size so can be framed with an 'off the shelf' frame for ease.
