Framed John Dory – Gyotaku Print A3

This A3 Gyotaku print features both an adult John Dory. Printed using art grade Sumi on Chinese Xuan paper, the composition offers a contemporary interpretation of the Gyotaku tradition — balancing scientific observation with expressive, modern presentation.

The initial print is wet mounted and reinforced with two layers of acid-free Japanese Masa paper for archival stability. The hand-torn edges enhance the tactile quality of the piece, allowing it to be displayed float-mounted or trimmed and framed traditionally.

Finished with my personal hanko stamp, each piece is a unique original — not reproduced.  This print comes in an oak foil frame and is float mounted.  The framed print measures approx 36cm wide by 49cm high.
