Large Print from Sardine on Japanese Hand Made Paper

This large-scale sardine print was created using a single fish, inked and printed directly onto handmade Japanese paper. Printed with permanent, lightfast acrylic ink, the work captures the fine textures and natural form of the sardine in striking detail. Measuring approximately 98 x 65 cm, the sheet has been traditionally flattened and mounted using the Urauchi process, ensuring both durability and a smooth, stable surface.

The piece is offered professionally framed for collection only. The frame itself is recycled — serviceable and secure, but carrying a few small dents that mark its history. The pricing reflects the value of the print, with only a nominal addition for the frame.

This print brings together the immediacy of direct printing with the enduring qualities of Japanese paper and traditional mounting, offering a bold yet contemplative statement piece for any coastal home.
