Linotaku of an Anchovie

This lovely small-scale print measures just 4 x 4 inches and is one of my personal favourites from a recent print run. The anchovy was hand carved, based on the form and size of a real anchovy I had previously printed. I used my signature blue and gold acrylic inks, which are both lightfast and permanent. Once printed, the eye was carefully hand painted, and after drying, the piece was wet mounted using the traditional Urauchi process used in Gyotaku, which helps stretch the print flat and strengthen it.
