Sardines – Acrylic Painting on Board

This framed painting is my attempt to capture the sleek beauty of sardines.  It actually started out with me using my lino stamps on the board to get the composition. Painted on board with a deep black background, the piece is finished with a high-gloss varnish that brings out every detail and shimmer of the fish. When I print I use white negative space, here however I've used black as the negative space.  Perfect for lovers of marine life or contemporary art, this painting combines elegance and energy in a compact, eye-catching format.
