Menai Strait, Line Caught, Sea Bass Heads Duo Gyotaku Printed and Wet Mounted.
This bass was caught on a line by a local fisherman here in North Wales. It was caught on the Menai Stait.
Bass are my favourite fish to print the definition you get on the scales is wonderful. Here, I've taken a print from each side of the bass head. Printed on Chinese mulberry paper measuring approx 30x30cm.
Printing is just the first part of the process. After printing, the paper is cockled and wouldn’t lay flat in a frame. To achieve a flat print I use the traditional wet mounting process that has been used in the east for centuries. This process takes 24hours.
When it is flattened, I sign the print and stamp it with my Hanko.
It has then been professionally framed in a white frame with a 4cm mount.
The print is unique no two prints are ever the same.
Shipping to the UK is free and I'm happy to discuss any framing requirements or shipping issues with you, just drop me a line.
As standard, the print is supplied unframed, wrapped in acid free tissue paper and rolled in a poster tube.
