A4 Anchovy Linocut – Blue, Gold & Green

A beautiful hand-printed lino cut celebrating the delicate form of the anchovy, printed in rich blue and shimmering gold inks, with the colours blending in places to create subtle shades of green.

The anchovy has been carefully hand-carved into a lino block and individually printed by hand onto beautiful handmade Thai Mulberry paper. The combination of deep blue and warm gold creates a striking contrast, while the natural blending of the inks produces unexpected touches of green throughout the print.

The handmade paper adds another layer of character to the artwork, with its natural fibres and softly textured surface complementing the organic quality of the hand-printing process. Because each print is made individually, the blending and layering of the inks will vary slightly, making every piece unique.

The finished artwork is backed using the traditional Japanese Urauchi method, carefully mounting the delicate Mulberry paper onto a supporting sheet using wheat paste. This traditional technique helps to strengthen and flatten the paper while retaining its beautiful handmade qualities.

Each print is hand-carved, hand-printed and hand-finished by Jane Evans, making it a distinctive piece of original artwork rather than a mass-produced print.
